Five Outdoor Adventure Ideas in the Olympia Area

Finish the summer strong with a few of these outdoor outings!

By Breanne Selland August 4, 2024

Here are a few local adventure ideas for this week :)

1. The Nisqually Refuge

If your kiddos love to check out wildlife and get their 'wiggles out' with plenty of trails and space to run adventure, this is a must this week! It's gorgeous at 'gold hour', and a great spot for summer or fall family pictures.

2. Tolmie State Park

This is a wonderful state park with many sea creatures, rocks, and sites to explore on the beach! Tides can impact what wonders can be seen. There is a parking charge and it's limited, just a FYI!

3. Olympia Farmer's Market

Open Thursday through Sunday from 10am to 3pm. Live music, great vendors with beautiful flowers and goods, and delicious food!

4. Millersylvania State Park

This is a wonderful state park with public access to Deep Lake! There may be a $ 10 'day-pass fee, just FYI.

5. Woodland Creek Community Park

Woodland Creek Community Park is located off of Pacific Avenue in Lacey. It features a small lake (no swimming or boat access), but fishing is available (please check the link for details).

There is a giant play structure, disc golf, covered picnic areas, and LOTS of room to run and play. Highly recommend!

Have a wonderful, sun-filled week, everyone!
