I lost 10 pounds doing what I know works!

Local gym supports others with a Heroes Discount

By Ranger Dave July 29, 2019

Earlier this month I decided to finally get in a gym.  I retired from the Army five years ago and have put all of my efforts into building a business and spending time with family.  Gym time has taken a back seat.  Well, 30 pounds later and several diets, I found what I already knew,  gyms work!

Over the past five years I have worked non-stop, eating lots of fast food on the road and overall just not exercising.  I tried many of those diet pills and starvation diets thinking that they must work since so many talk about them.  Maybe they work for some but it sure didn't work for me and I spent a chunk of money on them.

So this month I decided to stop in a gym.  I always look for Veteran owned places when I am going to commit myself to something and I found West Coast Fitness Lacey.  Two Veterans, Nic Dunning and Wade Lowery took over the gym a few years ago and built it into a great gym.  It is located next to the Lacey Post Office.  West Coast Fitness Lacey offers over 18,000 square feet of space which includes: two separate weight rooms, two kids clubs (one for younger children and another for those slightly older), saunas, tanning, a large group fitness room for classes, personal training (including workout planning and meal planning), a smoothie bar and a large red turf for exercises such as sled pushing and agility training.

Their Hero Discount is always a nice touch. Memberships can be purchased as a year-long contract or month-to-month, and the Hero Discount for active military, veterans, law enforcement, firefighters, medical professionals, and teachers is a great deal. Sometimes it feels great to get a little something extra being a Veteran.  Now I have been there almost a month and I am already down 10 pounds.  One thing that I have always known is that if you visit the gym, you lose weight.  Losing weight takes time and I fully expect that in 3 -4 months, I will be down the 30 pounds that I put on.  I also know that losing those 30 pounds with have a huge impact on my life and probably give me more energy as well.

So when you are looking for a gym, if you want to change your life and you want to be able to work out while the kids are being watched, West Coast Fitness Lacey is the place to visit and members have 24/7 access to the gym as well.  You can get a 10-day free pass by stopping in their gym during staff hours.  Visit their website here to learn more.  I hope to see you there.
